FPA was founded in 1999 by Diane Neimann. In 2008, Teresa Bonner and long-term FPA employee Ellen George acquired the firm.

Suzanne Paki joined Family Philanthropy Advisors in 2002 following services as a Diplomatic Officer for trade policy at the New Zealand Embassy, Washington DC where she had responsibility for negotiated resolutions of major trade access problems. Suzanne also served as a public policy analyst for the Trade Negotiations Division and the Australia Division at the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Wellington, New Zealand.

Suzanne is a graduate of Victoria University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Maori Studies and Bachelor of Commerce and Administration.  While at university, she worked in the Commerce Faculty at the University as a management studies research assistant and in the Maori Studies Department as a teaching assistant.

Suzanne provides grant-making research, planning and support, and administrative services for Family Philanthropy Advisors.

Suzanne enjoys the exploring the Twin Cities with her daughter and husband. Suzanne practices yoga and is a fervent reader.
